Meet Heather Thompson, Miss Grand New York 2019! Heather is one of my favorite models to work with because of how real, relatable, and at the same time, professional she is to work with. Heather is super funny, but also knows all of the right poses and makes my job incredibly easy! When Heather asked me to help her by making a video for her Miss Grand Pageant, I was thrilled. I would not call myself a professional videographer, but I’m still very happy with how it came out! While filming, I couldn’t help but take photos as well, considering that photography is more of a passion for me than video. Here’s some of the photos from this little shoot in Saratoga Springs, NY and Albany, NY.
Also a little behind the scenes info:
While we were in Saratoga, Heather had the idea to buy an ice cream cone for some content regarding b roll. On our way over to the ice cream shop, we saw a homeless man with a sign that asked for food. This is something you will see often in Saratoga so it is very easy to overlook and pass by. Heather and I decided it would be awesome to buy an extra cone for the homeless man on the bench and when we handed him the ice cream, you could see the actual joy and excitement in his eyes! One of the things that I’ve noticed about Heather over the past little bit of working with her is that she is not only beautiful on the outside, but she has one of the most giving and caring souls out there. She is also someone who will risk it for the biscuit and the proof is in the pudding. While we were in Albany, it was at least 90 degrees at noon in the scorching hot sun. We spent about an hour walking around while she wore a black jumpsuit and heels. Through the pain, and HEAT, we both made it through, and you would never know from the photos that we were both dying of heat the entire time.
